Far Infrared Sauna

Sauna: A gentle and effective way to detox, relax and repair.

We use Sunlighten full spectrum infrared sauna for the ability to gently heat your body for detoxification, relaxation, repair and recovery

Much more than a traditional sauna

Infrared saunas are not the same as traditional saunas. Infrared saunas are different because they use infrared thermal light to penetrate your body’s skin barrier in order to raise your core temperature, whereas conventional saunas have to heat the air in the sauna before it can actually heat you. Because of this, an infrared sauna gets less hot overall, allowing you to spend more time inside enjoying the benefits.

Our Sunlighten sauna uses full spectrum infrared which can be customised to your desired goals e.g. detoxification, weight loss, relaxation etc. Sunlighten uses infrared heaters with the highest “emissivity”, meaning the wavelength produced by the heaters is absorbed effectively by your body. Sunlighten saunas have also been independently reviewed for their very low and safe E.M.F. levels.

Infrared saunas work amazingly well to help your body heal after a therapy session and to dramatically increase your healing and detoxification capability when used after EWOT.

Benefits of our Infrared Sauna:

Proper sauna use is important; just like we warm up and cool down our bodies when we exercise, there are some basic steps to follow to ensure you gain maximum benefits of using a sauna.

Before Sauna Use:

  • Drink a minimum of 240ml (1 glass) of water to prepare your body for an increase in core body temperature.
  • Avoid wearing deodorant, perfume or aftershave in the sauna. If you need to, have a shower first.
  • Speak to our reception team or your practitioner about which program is right for you.
  • Always use a towel to sit on.

What should I do after a sauna?

  • Drink at least another glass of water. There is a water filter in the sink in front of the sauna with reverse osmosis alkalised water.
  • Have a warm shower and rinse of all the sweat and toxins. For the last minute of your shower turn the hot water off, breathe out and relax as the water becomes cold. Immerse your head and body under the cold water focusing on keeping your breathing relaxed.

You benefit from the sauna once the temp is at 38 degrees. Most people enjoy the sauna from 50-60 degrees.

If you prefer a hot sauna, the sauna can be pre-heated to 65 degrees. Conversely if you don’t like excessive heat the temp can be set to 45 degrees and this is very relaxing.

For most people 30 mins is enough but you can stay there longer if you prefer a gentler heat. Sauna bookings are in blocks of 30 mins.

Yes we have a shower, bathroom, mirror and hairdryer available.

You can, but we have towels available for an extra $5/ towel. (Some people prefer a towel to sit on and a fresh towel to use in the shower – especially if you are sharing the sauna with a friend)

You can but we don’t recommend it. The sauna is a great chance to relax. Our sauna has a screen that allows you to watch movies, Gaia or YouTube. It is also connected to Spotify.

The screen can also be turned off if you wish to sit and meditate.

Either way is fine. The sauna helps your body relax which is great before being adjusted, and it also supports healing and reduces inflammation which is great after your session.

This is the ultimate way to detox as the EWOT increases the energy in your cells and opens up your blood vessels. The sauna then supports your body to detoxify and heal.
Since most recommended infrared sauna treatment times range from 10 to 30 minutes, no serious side effects are associated with this proper use. Saunas are considered very safe for most people. The most common side effect is, because of the heat and subsequent sweating, some people can feel some lightheadedness. If you are using any kind of sauna, make sure you are drinking plenty of water so that you are well-hydrated. If you are sensitive to heat, have heart problems, or take medications, it is always a good idea to talk about sauna use with your doctor.
  • Reduced toxicity supports healthier cells and can prevent premature aging and chronic illness

  • Reduces symptoms with autoimmune conditions

When choosing an infrared sauna system, be mindful of the type of infrared wavelengths they use; near, mid, or far and what you want to use it for:

  • Near doesn’t go as deep and can help on the surface level by helping fight against aging and heal wounds.
  • Mid goes a little bit deeper into the body to really help reduce any chronic pain.
  • Far goes the deepest to draw out toxins and calm inflammation.

Look for brands that test for EMFs or electromagnetic fields, which can be harmful to your body in large doses. We are big fans of companies like Sunlighten, who go above and beyond in providing ultra-safe low-EMF sauna systems.
